Erik Brunetti “Oval Parody”
Having played a key early role in establishing reappropriation as a fundamental gesture within streetwear’s lexicon, the exhibition “Oval Parody” is reprised in a series of twelve acrylic paintings, furthering Erik Brunetti’s thought-provoking feedback loop of reference, interpretation, and creation.
Oval Parody is a solo exhibition by American artist, designer, and founder of cult Los Angeles brand FUCT, Erik Brunetti. Curated by KALEIDOSCOPE, the exhibition features a new body of work inspired by FUCT’s now defunct parody of the Ford logo—the iconic graphics that cemented Brunetti’s authority as the original subverter of what is now called streetwear.
