“Marginal Carillon”
In the Ground Hall of BASE, artist Eugenio Tibaldi presents a new work: a drawing that rotates on an underlying structure. A three-meter-long branch with old sound devices such as a gramophone and a record player amidst the remains of wine and discordant birds disturbed by the winds of war.
Artist Taketo Gohara created the sonic counterpoints to this work. He has designed a soundtrack that echoes in the room. The drawing will be activated, like a music box, by the audience. Whoever approaches the work triggers a video camera that detects the amount of ink on the paper and turns it into a note.
