Photo Vogue Festival
The sixth edition of The Vogue Photo Festival returns to Milan for a four-day event. The main focus of the 2022 edition, which will take place in Milan both physically and digitally from 18-21 November, is the common ground between ethics and aesthetics.
The event will feature a plethora of exhibitions, talks, and portfolio reviews, all culminating in a series of satellite events in and around the city of Milano.
Hosted in the premises of the BASE, in the Tortona district, the main exhibition will focus on the idea of “Reframing History” which explores how historical figures can be re-examined and re-imagined. This project series aims to explore the works of individuals whose intentions are to present an alternative view of history.
The exhibition, curated by Vogue Italia’s photo department and the festival jury, analyzes and focuses on Black designers’ perspectives on the theme of Reframing History. The selected artists move the focus on territories that stayed in the shadow for far too long, carving a new path that is now influencing and shaping the contemporary photography world, from alternative and counter-history to a radical reinvention and critique of Western art canons and mythologies.
