The city of Milan is looking for proposals for social, cultural, and educational activities that will animate the buildings of the complex of the former Mameli barracks.
Located on Via Gregorovius, right in front of Milan’s City Archive, the military lot will be transformed into a social and cultural center for the area. This is the objective of a new public open call recently launched by the Administration. Until September 30, the City Council welcomes projects with a social, cultural, and educational impact.
The three barracks, with a total area of about 11,600 square meters, will, in fact, be redeveloped as part of the Ex Caserma Mameli Implementation Plan, headed by SGR spa, which will bring a new large urban park.
“We want to proceed as soon as possible with the identification of concrete proposals that can revive the spaces of the barracks,” Pierfrancesco Maran, Councilor for Urban Planning, stated in a note to the press, “so that they can collaborate with the operator right from the planning stage of the renovation.”
