Andrea Contin (Padua, Italy, 1971), a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna and a graduate in Psychology from the University of Padua, combines artistic research with teaching, critical writing and social work. In his work as an artist he alternates and integrates videos, installations, performances, sculptures and drawings, bypassing rational perception to reach the viewer’s experience, which is added to that of the artist thanks to the power of metaphor and the simplicity of a powerful and direct language. He has exhibited in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Italy and abroad, has participated in awards and residencies and regularly holds seminars and conferences.
Andrea Contin (Padova, 1971), diplomato all’Accademia di Belle Arti di Bologna e laureato in Psicologia all’Università di Padova, affianca alla ricerca artistica l’insegnamento, la scrittura critica e l’attività nel sociale. Nel suo lavoro d’artista alterna e integra video, installazioni, performance, sculture e disegni, aggirando la percezione razionale per arrivare direttamente al vissuto dello spettatore, che si aggiunge a quello dell’artista grazie alla forza della metafora e alla semplicità di un linguaggio potente e diretto. Ha esposto in numerose mostre personali e collettive in Italia e all’estero, ha partecipato a premi e residenze, tenuto seminari e conferenze in musei e istituzioni e insegnato al Liceo, in Accademia, all’Università, in Comunità per minori e in carcere.
