Giovanni Oberti (Bergamo, Italy, 1982). In Giovanni Oberti’s work, time acts by accumulation and stratification. The artist shows this stratification by loading with meaning what, around him, seems to correspond to himself, to his feeling and thinking. After all, he only picks up what he calls to be part of his world and covers it with a veil, sometimes real, sometimes immaterial but equally perceptible. Oberti gives the object a sense of its own, autonomous, which returns changed to the sender, through the eye of the observer.

L’artista mostra tale stratificazione caricando di senso ciò che, intorno a lui, gli sembra corrispondere a sé, al suo sentire e pensare. In fondo non fa che raccogliere ciò che chiama a far parte del suo mondo e coprirlo di un velo, a volte reale, altre volte immateriale ma altrettanto percepibile. Oberti dà all’oggetto un senso proprio, autonomo, che ritorna cambiato al mittente, attraverso l’occhio dell’osservatore.
