It’s as if reality can sometimes be captured by “natural” photography, sometimes it needs to be “revisited”. Marge is a work made by juxtaposing the extreme edges of two landscape photographs. Properly the subject of the photo is missing, the two strips are simply the edges, those we often cut to better frame our subject”.
È come se la realtà a volte riuscisse ad essere colta dalla fotografia “al naturale”, a volte invece è necessaria una “rivisitazione”. Margeè un lavoro realizzato accostando i bordi estremi di due fotografie di paesaggio. Propriamente il soggetto della foto manca, le due strisce sono semplicemente i margini, quelli che spesso tagliamo per inquadrare meglio il nostro soggetto”.
Paola di Bello (Naples, Italy, 1961). She lives and works in Milan. Artist, photographer and videomaker, she formed in the studio of her father Bruno, one of the Italian artists who in the seventies used the tool of photography in a more radical way. Since 2006 she has been Professor of Photography at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts, where she currently directs the MA course in Photography.
Paola di Bello (Napoli, Italia, 1961). Vive e lavora a Milano. Artista, fotografa e videomaker, si forma nello studio del padre Bruno, uno degli artisti italiani che negli anni Settanta scelgono lo strumento fotografico in modo più radicale. Dal 2006 è titolare della cattedra di Fotografia dell’Accademia di Brera, dove attualmente dirige il Biennio specialistico di Fotografia.
