Roberto Amoroso (Naples, Italy, 1979). Amoroso’s work focuses on the relationship between the real world and the virtual world. Using the strategy of hypertext, which unites the use of networked resources and objectifies the associations of the mind by transforming them into real and concrete connections, his work focuses on the subtle boundary between the narcissism made explicit by people in the photos posted on social networks and the need to be represented by them. The photos posted in social-networks are then archived and processed in metamorphosis with the symbols of smart-phone and tablet applications, enhancing the ambiguous and teriomorphic appearance of the figures.
Roberto Amoroso (Napoli, Italia, 1979). Il lavoro di Amoroso si incentra sulla relazione tra il mondo reale e il mondo virtuale. Utilizzando la strategia dell’ipertesto, che accomuna l’utilizzo delle risorse in rete e oggettiva le associazioni della mente trasformandole in collegamenti reali e concreti, il suo lavoro si focalizza sul sottile confine tra il narcisismo esplicitato dalle persone nelle foto postate nei social network e l’esigenza di essere rappresentate da esse. Le foto postate nei social-network vengono quindi archiviate ed elaborate in metamorfosi con i simboli delle applicazioni di telefoni smart-phone e dei tablet, esaltando l’aspetto ambiguo e teriomorfo delle figure.
