Serena Vestrucci (Milan, Italy, 1986), lives and works in Milan. After graduating from the Brera Academy of Fine Arts, she moved to Venice, where in 2011 she won a residency-study at the ateliers of the Bevilacqua La Masa Foundation and in 2013 she graduated in Design and Production of Visual Arts at the IUAV University of Venice. Serena Vestrucci’s work can sometimes be barely visible and apparently simple: she digs into the interstice of everyday experience to be inspired by unexpected encounters with common objects. In her practice, the ordinary is decontextualized, or in her own words “transferred into a different field of action”.
Serena Vestrucci (Milano, Italia, 1986), vive e lavora a Milano. Dopo la laurea triennale presso l’Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera, si trasferisce a Venezia, dove nel 2011 vince la residenza–studio presso gli atelier della Fondazione Bevilacqua La Masa e nel 2013 consegue la laurea magistrale in Progettazione e Produzione delle Arti Visive all’Università IUAV di Venezia. Il lavoro di Serena Vestrucci può essere alle volte appena visibile e apparentemente semplice: scava nell’interstizio dell’esperienza quotidiana per essere ispirata da incontri inaspettati con oggetti comuni. Nella sua pratica, l’ordinario è decontestualizzato, o nelle sue stesse parole “trasferito in un diverso campo di azione”.
